In 2011, Waitaha signed a Deed of Settlement with the Crown. Based in Te Puke, Te Kapu o Waitaha (TKOW) is the Post Treaty Settlement Trust mandated by Waitaha to hold and manage the settlement redress assets.
Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About the role
TKOW is seeking a leader who will build on the legacy created by our current General Manager. You will empower our dedicated team of kaimahi to deliver on our vision and aspirations and uphold the mana of Waitaha. You will play an integral role in overseeing TKOW and its associated entities, will grow the organization, be a key intermediary with our whānau and our external stakeholders, and represent us locally, regionally and nationally.

This role requires an exceptional person who shares our vision and aspirations and has the credibility and integrity to lead TKOW’s activities. You will be strategic but also have the skills to operationalise strategy and arrive at the desired results.
You must have an understanding of the Waitaha settlement and a deep heart for our people. Additionally, you will be conversant in tikanga, kawa and have a passion for te reo Māori.
Experience in working well with a Board and driving board-directed strategy is essential, along with a collaborative mindset. Our aim is to nurture positive, mutually respectful relationships.
You will also have a proven track record in effectively running a business or large organisation, ideally working with or within Trusts or Incorporations.
