Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About the role

As Principal Adviser - Remuneration and Reward, you’ll take the lead on the organisation’s annual remuneration review - ensuring it's well-executed, robust, and aligned with internal frameworks and external benchmarks. You'll be the go-to expert for trusted, high-quality advice on remuneration and reward, supporting senior leaders to make consistent, informed decisions.

A big focus will be helping to embed a refreshed remuneration framework by developing practical tools, systems, and templates that support its successful rollout. You’ll also work alongside the People & Culture team to build internal capability, providing guidance, upskilling, and sharing knowledge across the team.

Beyond this, you'll contribute to wider strategic work including job evaluation (using Korn Ferry methodology), the development of pay structures, and gender pay and equity initiatives. This role offers the chance to shape and future-proof the organisation’s remuneration approach, with a real focus on long-term sustainability and fairness. 

This is a 6-month, hourly rate contract role.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Proven senior-level experience in remuneration and reward, ideally in complex or public sector settings

  • Deep technical knowledge of remuneration frameworks and reward strategy

  • Strong working knowledge of Korn Ferry job evaluation methodologies (essential)

  • Experience with Workday is highly desirable but not essential

  • Confident communicator with excellent stakeholder engagement skills

  • A collaborative team player who can also work autonomously and drive outcomes
