Hui E! Community Aotearoa is looking for a new Kaiwhakahaere Kaupapa Māori - Project Manager Māori. This is a unique opportunity for a passionate project manager keen to build ongoing support for Aotearoa’s community organisations.

Mō tēnei tūranga mahi - About the role

The mahi will include:

  • Planning and overseeing projects with an exclusive focus on supporting Tangata Whenua community organisations.
  • Be responsible for the creation and development of the strategy for this project mahi from inception to delivery.
  • Develop and co-design a three-year programme, identifying deliverable types of tangible support activities for kaupapa Māori organisations, to enhance their organisation’s capability and enable them to thrive.
  • Extensive engagement with Tangata Whenua forming genuine relationships and partnerships honouring our Te Tiriti o Waitangi Relationship model of practice.

Ngā tino Pūkenga/Wheako – Skills/experiences for the role

You’ll bring your project management passion, skills and experience to this role. These include:

  • Extensive experience in relationship management, and you’ll have a good understanding of how to engage with Tangata Whenua/Māori kaupapa related organisations.
  • In-depth knowledge of tikanga, kawa and at least second level ability to understand and kōrero te reo.
  • Well-developed understanding and knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application.
  • Solid background in project management, demonstrating your great track record of meeting and/or exceeding targets.
  • Background of working or volunteering in the community sector and strong community networks will be an advantage.

Hui E! are offering a salary range of $70k - $80k plus employer contribution of 3% for Kiwisaver. You’ll work alongside the Kaiwhakahaere Matua – Chief Executive and other kaimahi who will support you with key stakeholder relationships and tautoko you to deliver. You’ll join a national Tangata Whenua, Community and Voluntary Sector organisation who are committed to their pou, kawa and tikanga in how they operate.
