About the Psychotherapists Board of Aotearoa New Zealand
Te Poari o ngā Kaihaumanu Hinengaro o Aotearoa serves as the regulatory authority for psychotherapists in Aotearoa New Zealand. The Board’s central mission is to protect public health and safety by ensuring that psychotherapists are competent and fit to practise under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003 (HPCA Act). In all aspects of its work, the Board upholds Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to cultural safety and equity.
About the Role
As Registrar, you and your small team will ensure public safety and uphold excellence in the psychotherapist profession. You'll adhere to the HPCA Act, set and monitor practice standards, handle complaints, and oversee educational programme standards.
This position offers a unique opportunity to build strong relationships within the sector and operate in a collaborative, values-driven environment. You will have the chance to lead and make a significant impact in the health sector.
The role is full-time, permanent, office-based role in Wellington (with some flexibility), and offers a salary of around $130,000 per annum.
About you
To be successful in the role, you will bring
- A proven record of successfully managing a small-sized organisation or professional team
- Knowledge and experience in servicing boards and board committees
- Experience in complying with statutory requirements (knowledge of the HPCA Act is an advantage)
- Previous leadership experience in regulatory, governance, or health sector environments
- Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and cultural competence
- Strong administrative, financial management and organisational skills
