The Opportunity

Our client is a leading law firm in Auckland's CBD.  Due to increased workflows, they are now looking for an experienced lawyer to join their Employment and Health & Safety team.

You will be working with leaders in their field and for a range of clients on the full spectrum of employment and health & safety related matters.  The scope of work is varied, interesting and you will have enjoy significant client exposure.   You will be joining a busy and well-resourced team known for its responsiveness and practical approach.  They assist with all employment relationship problems concerned with employer and employee rights, personal grievances, disputes and litigation. They also advise employers on redundancy, disciplinary and performance management processes as well as assisting the Corporate department when needed on employment due diligence for commercial transactions. They regularly represent clients at mediation, in the Employment Relations Authority and in the Employment Court. 

The Ideal You:

• A NZ qualified solicitor with ideally 4-7 years' experience (more or less)
• Some previous experience in NZ employment law matters (contentious and/or non-contentious) 
• Health & Safety experience is desirable but not essential
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
