The Opportunity

Based on Auckland’s North Shore, this is a unique opportunity to join a growing law firm specialising in criminal law. Join a supportive and collaborative team who are working on a wide range of criminal defence matters, mostly at PAL 1, which also includes jury trials. This position is for someone with some criminal law experience who is looking to take their career to the next level, which will include growing into a position of leadership and mentorship within the firm.  

About You

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:

• A NZ qualified lawyer with 2-3 years’ legal experience (thereabouts) in criminal law
• Classified as PAL 1 (or above) by the Ministry of Justice
• Understanding of how to run and manage criminal cases
• Desire to lead and mentor more junior members of the team 
• Demonstrate a track record of leadership and management experience (not necessarily in law)
• Strong people skills with the ability to effectively engage, listen and collaborate
