Operational Policy Contractor

You will work closely at the intersection of policy and operations to turn complex legislation into practical guidance and business procedures. In addition, you will contribute to Ministerial briefings and Cabinet papers.

Based in Wellington, this is a contract position until 30 June 2026.

About you

You’ll bring:

• Proven experience in operational policy, regulatory systems, and legislative implementation.
• Expertise in translating legislation into operational policy.
• Service design experience (would be useful).
• Ability to write clear, concise briefings for Ministers and Senior Leadership, and contribute to Cabinet papers.
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and stakeholders.
