Professional Standards Advisor, Wellington CBD

You will be supporting professionals in this sector to practice safely, maintain professional standards, monitoring compliance, and taking appropriate action when concerns are identified.

Mō te tūranga | The role

In this important role, you will play a key part in maintaining professional standards across a range of cases within the health sector. You’ll manage complaints, provide expert advice, assess compliance with established guidelines, and work alongside key stakeholders to resolve issues that safeguard public interests. Your ability to communicate effectively, draft precise documentation, and collaborate with colleagues will be key to your success.

  • Review and manage cases to ensure professionals are complying with the sector's legislative framework and code of conduct
  • Triage and escalate cases as appropriate
  • Communicate effectively with professionals and stakeholders to resolve queries and concerns
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment focused on achieving shared goals
  • Present findings and provide recommendations to support the decision-making processes

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Disputes and resolutions management experience
  • Demonstrable experience in business writing
  • Excellent verbal communication and skills
  • Ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in case management, complaints handling, regulatory roles, or the health sector is highly regarded
  • Familiarity with navigating legislation (e.g., health-related frameworks) is a plus, but not essential
