He angitūtanga | The opportunity

We are seeking a Kitchen Manager to oversee the daily operations of our kitchen, ensuring nutritious, delicious meals are prepared for rangatahi and staff. You’ll be using fresh produce grown on-site in our gardens and orchards and will play a key role in turning this bounty into healthy meals. You’ll also teach rangatahi how to cook and transform the produce they have grown into nutritious kai, fostering skills and confidence for life.

He kōrero mōu | About you

You are organised, reliable, and passionate about good food and supporting young people. You have experience managing a kitchen, strong food safety knowledge, and enjoy working as part of a team.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Experience managing a kitchen or in a similar food service role
  • Skilled in menu planning, food ordering and kitchen organisation
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
  • Ability to teach, lead and support others in the kitchen
  • Commitment to regenerative, organic practices
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Interest in kaupapa Māori and supporting rangatahi

Ngā hāora me te utu | Hours and remuneration

This role is a 12-month fixed term contract with potential to extend. The hours are 30 hours per week, with the potential to increase to full-time as the programme grows. The salary is $80,000 pro-rated to 0.75 FTE ($60,000) plus Kiwisaver.
