The Opportunity

A superb opportunity for an experienced lawyer to join this specialist team of construction law experts at Solicitor or Associate level.

This highly regarded construction law team are experiencing strong work flows and are now looking for a litigator with ideally, 3+ years' experience to join their team.  The disputes are varied ranging from product liability claims, engineering defects, weather tightness issues, building subsidence, payment disputes to breaches of negligence claims and professional indemnity cover issues.  The team act for building and engineering consultants, contractors, specialist subcontractors, developers, and their insurers. Their clients include international and multinational companies, as well as local businesses.  They cover both front-end and back-end construction work so there is an opportunity to also work on transactional matters in addition to dispute resolution.

About you

  • A NZ qualified solicitor with ideally 3-8 years' experience (more or less).
  • Some previous experience in back-end construction law (litigation & dispute resolution) or front-end construction law would be advantageous but is not necessary.  Our client will consider a general commercial/civil litigator or insurance lawyer with an interest and desire to now specialise in construction law.
  • A team player with a "can do" attitude.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
