Mō te tūranga | The role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Team Leader – Professional Standards to join a respected regulatory organisation in the healthcare sector. This leadership role is critical in ensuring the maintenance of professional standards, education, and continuous quality improvement within the medical profession.

In this role, you will oversee a team of Professional Standards Advisers, manage cases, develop operational initiatives, and contribute to policy and process improvements. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture.

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Professional Standards Adviser
  • Oversee case management processes, ensuring efficiency and regulatory compliance
  • Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives and training programmes
  • Provide expert advice and support to internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure alignment with legislative requirements, policies, and best practices

You ideally will bring to this role:

  • Proven leadership experience in a regulatory, healthcare, or legal environment
  • Strong case management or project management skills in a high-volume setting
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, problem-solving, and stakeholder management abilities
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to influence and drive continuous improvement
  • An understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application in regulatory settings
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in law, healthcare, policy, or a related analytical discipline is preferred
