About the Role
Our client is seeking a curious and analytical Inquiries Specialist to join a team that carries out investigations into issues affecting the public sector and local government. The work directly supports the integrity of New Zealand’s public entities and helps drive improvements across the system.
In this role, you will be responsible for gathering, analysing, and reporting on issues of public interest. You will contribute to high-quality reports to support informed decision-making, work closely with senior leaders and agencies across the state sector, and navigate complex issues involving legal requirements, good public administration, and political context.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- 4+ years’ experience in a legal, investigative, or analytical role within a public sector or professional services environment.
- Excellent research, analysis, and writing skills.
- An inquisitive nature and strong attention to detail.
- A commitment to public sector values and a solid understanding of government systems.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in law or a related field.

Flexible working (up to two days per week working from home) is well-established and part time options including 0.8 FTE or 0.9 FTE are available. Public sector secondments may also be considered.
Expected appointing salary of $110,000 to $129,000 depending upon skills and experience.
